For example, in the number 2.5, the “2” is the whole part, and the “5” is the fractional part. That means we have 2 whole units and 5 tenths!

How to Count in Decimals
- Start with a Whole Number: Let’s start with the number 1.
- Add Tenths: When we move to the next number, we can add tenths. For example:
- 1.0 (which is the same as 1)

- 1.2
- 1.3
- 1.4
- 1.5
- … and so on.
- Continue Adding Tenths: You can keep adding tenths until you reach 2.0.
- After 1.9, you will reach 2.0.
