Hello, Year 4! Today, we’re going to learn about counting in tens. This is a fun and useful skill to have. When we count in tens, we keep adding ten to the last number.

What Does Counting in Tens Mean?

When we count in tens, we start from a number and keep adding 10 each time. For example:

  • If we start at 0, the next numbers will be:
    • 0 (start)
    • 10 (0 + 10)
    • 20 (10 + 10)
    • 30 (20 + 10)
    • And so on…

Key Rules
