The Poem
In a village small, by the sea so blue,
Lived a brave young lad, named Timmy too.
With dreams of treasure, and tales of gold,
He set out one day, brave and bold.
He packed some snacks and tied his shoes,
With the sun shining bright, he had nothing to lose.
He followed the map that his grandfather gave,
To find hidden riches, and be strong and brave.
Through forests thick and over hills,
He climbed and stumbled, yet felt the thrills.
He met a wise owl, sitting on a tree,
Who said, “Dear Timmy, come talk to me!”
“What is your quest?” the owl asked with glee,
“I’m seeking lost treasure, can you help me?”
The owl fluffed his feathers and nodded his head,
“Follow the path where the wild flowers spread.”
Timmy thanked the owl and hurried away,
With hope in his heart, he would surely not sway.
He crossed a river, wide and deep,
With thoughts of the treasure that made him leap.
On the other side, he found a cave,
Dark and mysterious, it felt quite brave.
With a torch in hand, he stepped inside,
Hoping to find what the treasure would hide.
The cave was filled with echoes and sounds,
Of dripping water and strange, bumpy grounds.
Suddenly a shadow danced on the wall,
Timmy stood still, feeling quite small.
“Who dares to enter my sacred domain?”
Growled a big bear, with a voice like rain.
“I’m here for treasure, please let me pass,
I promise I’ll leave, I won’t be a nuisance, alas!”
The bear looked at Timmy, his eyes very wise,
“Treasure is not just gold, but a great prize.
If you wish to leave, answer me this,
What is the value of kindness and bliss?”
Timmy thought hard, for he knew it was true,
That treasures of heart are worth much more too.
“I’ll help those in need, share joy and cheer,
That’s the true treasure; it’s precious and dear!”
The bear smiled kindly, and stepped aside,
“Go on, young lad, with your heart as your guide.
The treasure you seek is ahead, my dear friend,
But remember, true wealth is in kindness we send.”
Timmy thanked the bear and continued his quest,
With a heart full of joy, he felt truly blessed.
At the end of the cave, he found a great chest,
Filled with old coins and jewels, it was the best!
But as he looked closer, he saw a bright note,
Written in ink, it made his heart float.
“Treasure is found in the love that we share,
Keep this in mind, and you’ll always be rare.”
With a smile on his face, Timmy turned back,
His journey was rich, and he stayed on track.
He left the cave, with laughter and song,
For the true treasure found was where he belonged.
