Glacial landscapes in the UK were created during the last Ice Age when large glaciers covered many upland areas. As glaciers moved, they eroded the land and deposited material, producing distinctive features such as corries, arêtes, pyramidal peaks, U-shaped valleys and moraines.

What is a Glacier?

A glacier is a large mass of ice that moves slowly downhill due to gravity.
